Labor & Employment

Employment law is the branch of civil law governing labor relations and employment. Municipal Law

Our firm provides legal services to municipalities and branches of local government. We possess an extensive knowledge of local government law and the obligations of public entities, and we are committed to providing timely and practical advice to our municipal clients. Areas of practice included in this penumbra are land use and zoning, environmental compliance, bidding and procurement, contracts, legislation/code and ordinance drafting, liability and negligence, public lawsuits, labor and employment law, and civil litigation.

Health care law encompasses the laws and regulations governing hospital and healthcare administration, including partnership/joint ventures, provider agreements, facility agreements, employment law, licensure/credentialing, administrative compliance, HIPAA privacy, security and compliance, environmental law and waste management, fraud and abuse issues, and reimbursements.


Employee Benefits

Employee benefits are non-wage compensation such as stock options, group insurance, retirement benefits, sick leave, and vacation that are offered to employees in addition to wages or salaries. Some employee benefits are mandated by statutes such as the federal Family Medical Leave Act, but most employee benefits are determined by employer policy or contract.
